Ingredients for Danish Pastry

Two cups softened unsalted butter

Two-third cup all-purpose flour

Two and a half cups milk

Half cup white sugar

Two teaspoons salt

Four and a half teaspoons active dry yeast

Eight cups all-purpose flour

Two eggs

One teaspoon lemon extract

One teaspoon almond extract

Directions

Take a medium bowl and beat butter until creamy, add flour and mix till completely combined. Divide this dough preparation into two equal parts and keep one for later use. Start rolling each half. Putting waxed paper in between is helpful. Refrigerate dough.

Now, take a large bowl and mix yeast and 3 cups of flour. Take a saucepan and keep the milk in medium flame. Add salt and sugar. Fluid should boil to 115 degrees Fahrenheit. It should be warm and not too hot. Now add the warm milk to the flour along with eggs, lemon, and almost extract. Knead well.

Again cut the dough into equal parts. Roll them. Put butter sheet on the dough and keep folding. Seal the butter inside and wrap the dough using a plastic sheet and refrigerate for 20 minutes. You need to remove this at regular intervals from the refrigerator and repeat the method. Once it is entirely ready, it is hard to manage.

Now, start rolling the dough out and make sure it is a quarter-inch thick. Cut the dough into squares. Fill each square with your choice of filling. For making the perfect diamond shape, you need to fold the corners toward the center. Now, start putting the danishes on the baking tray. Keep everything ready for baking. Keep the oven preheated at 450 degrees. Brush each Danish pastry with egg wash for the perfect finish.

Bake this for 8-10 minutes. You can also check the bottom, and once it is golden brown, you can take them out of the oven.
